
POSITION: RAMS Engineer
Location: Bangalore
Experience: 5+ Years (Minimum 5+ Years in Railway/Metro RAMS)
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
- Education: B.E Degree in Electrical/Electronic Communication Engineering or equivalent.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contribute as an individual expert and lead RAMS activities within a team.
- Perform RAM and Safety analysis for Railway and CBTC-based metro systems.
- Carry out RAM and Safety activities for railway signalling systems, including Rolling stock, Signalling & Control system, Platform screen Doors, Depot, COMMS, SCADA, Traction etc.
- Apply and ensure compliance with EN 50126 and EN 50129 standards.
- Perform reliability prediction using tools such as Isograph.
- Participate in safety reviews, audits, and technical meetings.
- Derive RAM and Safety targets based on customer specifications.
- Support RAM and Safety demonstration in line with contractual and customer requirements.
- Analyse system performance data and demonstrate RAM parameters.
- Conduct RAM and Safety analyses throughout the system development lifecycle.
- Create, maintain, and manage RAMS process records and documentation.
- Interact closely with external developers, partners, architects, development teams, software testing, and V&V teams to successfully complete RAMS activities.
SKILLS:
- Strong hands-on experience in RAM and Safety analysis for railway systems, preferably metro systems.
- In-depth knowledge of EN 50126, EN 50129, or equivalent international standards.
- Proven experience in implementing RAM and Safety programs as per CENELEC standards.
- Experience in RAM and Safety analysis for CBTC-based metro systems.
- Expertise in safety analyses such as PHA, SHA, OSHA, FMEA/FMECA, FTA, IHA, etc.
- Hands-on experience in reliability prediction using MIL-HDBK-217F or equivalent standards.
- Experience in hazard log management and safety case preparation.
- Proficiency in reliability modelling, including RBD and redundancy models.
- Experience in maintainability analysis, including MTTR and system downtime estimation.
- Experience in reliability analysis to estimate MTBF of electronic systems.
- Ability to estimate product safety targets as per CENELEC standards.
- Experience in spare parts analysis.
- Exposure to client meetings and independent safety (IS) audits.
